I just won a 1049 in upstate New York (I live in the very bottom of Illinois) and I am wondering the best way to get it. My options are to have it hauled or to use a 2500 dodge and a gooseneck to go get it. I know that pulling it with a 3/4 ton truck will be rough but my main concern is whether or not I can pull the machine up on the trailer. The ramps are pretty steep and I know that those machines are pretty long, my fear is that I will get halfway up and then bottom the thing out and be stuck. Has anyone hauled one of these on a gooseneck and if so did you have any problems?
