I may be needing to spray my alfalfa for bugs later this week. My concern is that I have 2 new bee hives located about a 100 yds south of the alfalfa fields. Alfalfa is not in bud stage and will not be in bud for another 10-12 days. I was thinking about spraying around sunset while the bees are in the hive. That would give the insecticide about 9 hrs on the field before the bees get active again the next morning. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, how were the results?
