New Holland br7060 question

I am changing the cam bearings on the pickup head the ones that run into Cam track. I had to drive a plug out of the side of the pickup head the diameter of the cam bearing to get the cam bearing out the plug looks like it was almost spot weld it in but I'm not sure. The question is would I need to spot weld that plug to put it back in or is there another way to secure it
