Educate me on Cummins Engines

Looking into the possibility of doing and engine conversion using a 4 cylinder cummins. Educate me on the 4 cylinder engines, the differences etc. Is there dimensions published for the engine?

   I heard somewhere that cummins made a 3 cylinder?? Is this true?
