Hi, I'm fairly new to haytalk and have never posted. Thought I might pitch this one out for some brainstorming. I currently run a jd 820 moco with roll crimpers. Would it be beneficial to get an old school steel on steel crimper to recrimp alfalfa right after the initial cutting. I see these 20k plus machines for reconditioning but let's get real. If you're not full time that just doesn't add up to own one. We do around 10ac going up to 15 ac next year and do quite well with our little set up making small squares.Itd be nice to invest a little more to dry the hay faster. Is there a happy medium there between cost and making sense? Another piece of food for thought, would it be beneficial if a crimper did make sense to fabricate a ground drive row fluffer behind it to spread the crop more? Just some brainstorming, let's hear good or bad what you guys think?
