3 years ago we set up a 5acre plot around an office in a rural area, planted roundup ready alfalfa knowing their was a thistle problem, idea was to let someone keep and harvest the hay and take care of stand for no charge. Well I got a call and it's a mess, don't know about the first couple of years but last year it was harvested once, guy stated lack of rainfall but didn't affect anybody else, and now it's 3ft high, lots of weeds and a ton of thistles, should be into the second cutting by now. Anybody got any ideas besides the obvious? Thinkin we're going to mow it high and see what happens, really need to spray, but were getting into dry hot weather.
