Hesston 4650 feeding problems

What would cause a 4650 inline baler to not feed hay into the chamber on a consistent basis. My hay is really dry. Could that be the reason for it not feeding across the pickup into the feeder forks?The baler is used , welds on the edge of the auger. The baler is new to me I just bought it to replace a NH 282that quite me. What should I start with. Plenty of crop in front of the baler grass alfalfa mix
