Field that could be cut again, but don't need the hay

My field of mixed grasses needs to be cut again or just mowed down. I don't need the hay and would have to pay someone to round bale it. I only do small squares.

 

With the forecast indicating the humidity levels above 50% and the chances of rain every 4 or 5 days I'm not sure it would get dry enough before the next rain.

 

I don't run chemicals although I am considering adding it for next year.

 

What options do I have? Can it be left alone until next spring?

Would mowing would leave a lot of thatch? What about mowing it multiple times?
