1837 slip clutch need help.

Was baling the other day dry alfalfa that was in case in the 18% to 22% range. Slip clutch started slipping and got to the point I had to tighten all the springs down so it wasn't a slip clutch any more lol. Never sheared a pin either, so I'm thinking I should rebuild the clutch. Do I just put in new friction plates? Never rebuilt one before any help is appreciated!
