Bust a Hay Myth

mardi 14 juin 2016

Took some samples out for a prospective buyer and he asked me if he could feed them right away or did he need to wait? My view was/is, if a horse was in the hay field munching on the standing uncut grass eating it, and I came along and cut it and baled the same grass a few days later, I can't see any reason to wait.

But, there is a prevailing view that one should wait anywhere from two weeks to a month before feeding the freshly cut hay.

What say you?

Thanks!
Bill
