Back to back hay alfalfa crops

Have any of you guys went back to back alfalfa in the same field without crop rotation? With the prices so poor on crops I'm looking for way to go right back into hay and not suffer on germ on the seeds. Just trying to get a idea what others are doing. I was thinking to just tear out the old crop and make new seed bed and go right back into hay.
