I'm planning to put out a new stand of grass hay. I haven't had the greatest luck establishing new stands in the past. What tips can you provide, or what processes do you use to ensure the best chance of success for a new stand that is thick and as weed free as possible?
This ground was a split field for 2019. Half of it was in wheat, and half was in Timothy. The Timothy section I planted last fall but it didn't take as well as it should have and it was looking like an uphill battle to get it productive.
I sprayed it with Glyphosate and 24D 9 days ago. I was planning to work it, smooth/level it as best I can, then seed it.
