I have been feeding 1st cut hay on poor areas of pasture for years and had great success with the dropped seeds germinating the following spring and the trampled (uneaten) hay adding organic matter to the soil. I now have access to alot of baleage, and I would like to use it the same way, but I don't know if the fermentation cooks the seeds beyond viability. Does anyone know if the seeds remain viable in baleage?
