New Holland 648

I recently got a 648 round baler chain driven, everyone said I should recycle the machine but it was free. The problem I have is at first it feeds great until about a quarter of the way and then it just clogs up and refuses to feed anymore hay plus isn't the bale suppose to spin inside the machine? Not sure what the problem is everything is turning like it is suppose too.
