I need to add hydraulic transmission oil to my CaseIH 8840 swather. The dilemma is what oil to use. Do I use the Hy-Gard, CaseIH Hy-tran, or the Napa hydraulic transmission oil. The previous owner used the Hy-Gard, although he told me that the case dealer did some work on the machine, but he never told me wither all of the oil was replaced with the Case oil. We have been using the Napa oil in our tractors with no issues. What oil should I go with; I am thinking of going with the JD oil. Just because that is what he previous owner used. The Napa oil is about $45, JD oil $75, and the Case oil $85 per five gallons.
