Deere 467 Baler Issue

vendredi 10 juin 2016

A friend has a 467 Deere baler that will not dump a roll after being made.

He bought the baler from an individual last year and was told it was field ready. When he baled with it the problem arose. Deere told him to change hydraulic ends and that did not work. The tail gate has always opened when empty, just does not open with a bale inside.

Over the winter he had both end gate cylinders rebuilt. Today he baled for the first time this year. The first 4x5 did fine. The second roll took longer for the gate to open. It would not open after that.

He finally drove between the windrows bouncing and got the end gate to open and dump the roll. We then tried a 36 inch roll and it dumped if you had the foot throttle all the way down.

He is pulling the baler with a low hour 5083E Deere on flat ground. Tractor Data says he has 2,828 PSI and 15.9 GPM on the hydraulics. Is that enough to make the baler work?

I am going to take a larger tractor over tomorrow and see how that works. If a different tractor does not solve the problem, where do we look?

Thanks in advance.
