Thinking of getting Hesston/MF 1850 - have question

After years of using old MF (?? years old), New Holland (60 years old) and a Freeman (40 years old) we're thinking of buying a new baler.

 

We went an looked at a MF 1840 yesterday, and by this morning my husband is wondering how the augers (never used a baler with augers) will cope with the long grass stems of first cuttings. Will the stems just wrap up in the augers and jam up the works? I have no idea what to answer him, but though someone here might have some experience, or better yet, have never had problems in a bazillion bales.
