Was baling small squares of oat hay yesterday, and on the poorer part of the field the baler would not make good bales. Heavy and sloppy, and many of them would break if you looked at them funny. Moisture was at 14%, although the stem knuckles were still a bit green. Had raked together several rows to make a good size windrow, so it wasn't windrow size.
On the better part of the field, where the oats came a lot better, I could make nice solid bales.
Any thoughts?
