What type of Grass is this ?

vendredi 1 septembre 2017

Hi All, Im a relatively new farmer (Ontario, Canada), in late june i planted my first crop of hay (just 5 acres) a mix of clover, timothy, fescue and rye grass.   I used a cover crop of oats.

The day after the planting we had heavy rain, our creek over flowed and we flooded (alot of heavy rain here in near north ontario),   I had 80 acres under water for several days.

Over the course of July and August we flooded 2 or 3 times more, only a bit of the oats survived (the slightly higher areas that dried out fastest)

the rest of the field has this grass stuff growing (see attached pictures), it seemed to be coming up in rows, like I seeded it, but its thick.  Unless its creeping red fescue I suspect its some sort of invasive swamp grass growing as a result of the very wet conditions.

anyone know what this stuff is ?

any insight is appreciated
