We were baling some alfalfa today and the moisture reading on the baler was reading 14% to 20% and my hand held was showing 17% to 25%. We were using preservative I was wondering if the high moisture reading could be from the center of the bale compression and the preservative? We unloaded it and will watch to see how it turns out rather then sell of the rack. I could not believe the hay was that wet because of the leaf loss.
