Re-baling old round bales back into round bales??

Just curious if anyone has ever took old round bales, and rebaled them into round bales again. If you did how did it work, or how did you make it work. We have a about 50 older round bales 5x5 where the twine is junk, and if you try to move a bale it just falls apart. We were thinking of re-rolling them (we know we are going to lose some hay in the process of re-baling). We tried wrapping one in plastic, but it falls apart doing that. I was wondering if our newly acquired 2011 JD 568 mega-wide (with only 11,000 bales on it) could do the job of picking up the un-rolled bales with a 100 pto hp tractor, or would it be better to rake it with our pto driven rol-a-bar rake after unrolling the bales.
