John Deere 336 tearing string on twine guide

mercredi 24 juin 2020

Helped a freind do some winter maintenace on thier 336 baler. We installed updated knotter wiper arms and knifes. Went to bale this week and we now have a problem with the string getting pulled in two. Everything looks to be working properly. Tucker fingers pull string in and a good knote is tied. What is happening is that the lower string is catching on the guide finger and when the wiper arm moves back to the left it pulls against the guide so hard it breaks the string. Is it supposed to catch on the guide? Why is it different now than it was with the original arms? Can we just remove the guide completely to eliminate this?

Parts book calls it a "Finger, Twine" Part number 14722

Any help is greatly apprecitaed. Thank you
