John Deere 640 rake

Dealer dropped off a Massey 283 for me to test out (I’m buying it) and it had a Deere 640 roll bar rake with it, I use New Holland 56 rakes on a double rake dolly but had my son pull the Deere solo today and it worked very well. I offered him $800 but he said he needs $1000. Rake is tight, rubber mounted teeth look very good. Any input is appreciated.
