Wish I hadn't took a late cutting last year!

Took a late cutting on 20 acres of alfalfa the first week of November last year. Stands that I didn't cut are 10-12" tall now and thick. The 20 acres I cut is 4-8" tall thick but has just stopped growing. Know it has to do with it being cold and dry here, but that's a lesson learned I won't soon forget.
