NH BR7060 net wrap actuator/duckbill calibration

vendredi 5 juin 2020

So wanted to start a separate thread than JD3430's that I commented on below. As mentioned there my net wrap actuator broke while baling a few days ago. Had a local machine shop weld it back up and I think they did a nice job with it. Hopefully it holds. Put it back on tonight and tried to go through all of the calibration procedures in the manual for the actuator/potentiometer as well as the duckbill. After mounting the actuator the mechanical stop bolt was hitting the frame (I don't think it was hitting terribly before because there was very little paint missing on the frame), so backed the stop bolt off, and loosened the actuator mounting bolts and moved it back as far as I think it will go. Even after doing so the duckbill seems to be inserted too far based on my measurement, at least if I'm following the manual correctly which says 1 5/8" between duckbill and slot in sidewall. Thoughts based on the pics? Also, when in the home position is the arm holding the cam follower bearing supposed to be firm or loose? It is very tight in the cam with no wiggle room. I couldn't remember if that's how it was before or not. It seems to be free and in the center of the slot while in the fully inserted and pre-cut positions.

While perhaps it doesn't matter yet if the mechanical adjustments above aren't correct, after tweaking the potentiometer slightly I did get the actuator to read in the correct number ranges for the fully inserted, pre-cut, and home positions.

Mike10, Gearclash, and others - any thoughts or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
