Rice

Well this may be the most dumb thing you've read all day, but it's a brain storm idea that I wanted to run by y'all. Has any ever tried a layer of dry rice or rock salt as a moisture barrier for floors?? I know they always tell you to put wet electronics in a bag of rice to pull out moisture. Wonder if it works on a hay bale lol!
