468 and 469 John Deere baler

I have a 469 with the bale push bar.What will cause the bale pusher to go over or under the bale.When it does this the bale gets hung up and will not roll out of the way.It would be easy to mess the tailgate up if you do not catch this.I think this is a problem with the baler.
