Looking for info on how the large flange bearing is replaced. Manual does not show this bearing at all. I know that it is a 2 part bearing and that you can replace the inner core without changing the flange. I have a new inner bearing on the way.
This bearing has been giving me trouble lately. First of all, when I greased it for the first time this spring, some water got pushed out of the bearing. I had the baler in the barn all winter but it sat outside for a month or so this spring before I got time to get it ready. Was worried at the time that this water could have caused some corosion in the bearing.
Fast forward to now, I have 2 issues. First of all, the bearing is getting hot. It has been running around 160 to 170 degrees, not good, even with plenty of grease. Second, the locking ring keeps coming undone and allows the drive roller to slide sideways causing a gap in the baler where hay gets balled up. I am thinking that both of these issues will get corrected with the new bearing.
So, anyone changed out one of these bearings? They only exist on the H model balers...
