I'm working on a New Holland 276 Hayliner, and I'm replacing all the bearings on the plunger. The major issue is that the linkage and shaft broke the set screw collar welded to the side of the plunger. It must have hit something hard, or made too many heavy bales. Take a look at my photo. The plate is dimpled from the bearings as if there was a vertical force. Should I cut out and weld in a new piece of plate, or try to bend the plate back to vertical?
