Thinking about a disc mower conditioner but being in Texas I have mesquite popping up on a regular basis in my coastal fields. How well does a disc cutter deal with the mesquites coming up in the fields? My 489 does not seem to mind them unless it is some old growth that it picks up and it slides up on the cutter bar and it gets to some of the larger stuff with a 1" to 1.5" OD and most of the time that's not a problem. I do know it is hard on sickle sections but for the most part it will just process them with the coastal. How much of a problem will this be for a disc cutter?
