1. This has probably been asked before, but what is your cut off for moisture in a 4x5 round bale before it can go in a barn?
Im talking typical stem moisture observed during typical afternoon baling, no real dew or ground moisture. Of course this would be untreated hay (no hay preservative)
I tend to leave anything outside that reads 17% or higher.
2. I made about 90 bales today. Most read in the 11%-15% range. (Anything reading 17% or more, I dumped perpendicular to the good bales). Sometimes the readout said “low” and for a few seconds here and there, it would read 16-17%. If during the course of making a 4x5 bale, you have a reading of 16-17% for a few seconds, would you store that bale inside, or reject it?
