Please help so I don't mess up. I have always had my service guy do the check (currently no problem other then frayed cuts (dull knife) So I am attempting to do this myself due to the covid stuff, To get the knife to move out from home position (access to knife bolt blocked) to gain access to the bolts do I trip the bale end lever and slowly rotate the flywheel until the knife moves out far enough to get to the hex head bolts that hold the knife in place? I know i need to bend back the locking clip first. I also vaguely remembering someone saying I need to keep tension on the bailing twins by using bungy cords inside the chamber to put strong tension on the string (like the bale would) to get a good sample knot. Twin is currently being held in the knotter. I got lucky that there was only a flake in front of it when I emptied the bale chamber.
I tried the search on this bu nothing came back.
Thanks for any help
PS this is on a Hesston 4550
