Baling winter rye and Sudan grass

We have a Vermeer 504 pro baler that we use for putting up baleage and works great for alfalfa and grasses but we've tried baling up winter rye and Sudan grass with it and it ends up getting wrapped around the pick up on the baler. Wondering if there's and tips or tricks to prevent an hour of wasted time unwrapping the pickup. Thanks
